WRECKS AND RELICS

Old aircraft never die, nor do they fade away. When retired from flying duties some start a new life as gate guardians, some are stored pending further decisions, some end up as exhibits in aviation museums and some continue to serve in other capacities such as ground instructional airframes or decoys. Only when no other use is found, they face the scrapman’s axe. The map below shows the locations of many known surviving aircraft.
