Washington D.C. Air National Guard C-40C Clipper Visits Schiphol
A rare visitor touched down at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport this week when a C-40C Clipper from the 201st Airlift Squadron (201st AS) arrived in the Netherlands.
The aircraft, operated by the District of Columbia Air National Guard, is based at Joint Base Andrews near Washington D.C. and serves as a VIP and executive transport platform for senior U.S. government and military officials.
The C-40C is a military variant of the Boeing 737-700 and is equipped with a specialized executive interior designed for high-level passenger transport missions. Aircraft from the 201st Airlift Squadron are regularly tasked with supporting official government travel both within the United States and overseas.
The arrival at Schiphol offered aviation enthusiasts a unique opportunity to spot one of the less frequently seen U.S. Air National Guard aircraft operating in Europe. The distinctive C-40C remains a relatively uncommon visitor compared to the more frequently observed U.S. Air Force transport fleet.
