In the first weeks of October several NATO partners participated to the 2017 edition of the NATO exercise “Cold Igloo 2017”. The 2017 edition of Cold Igloo was taken place at two different airbases at the same time from where the missions were flown. One Part of the fleet was stationed at Kleine Brogel Airbase while the other part was stationed in Buchel Airbase in Germany. From both bases, joint missions were flown over the North Sea and Germany on a daily base. Participants this year were Italian Tornado’s, Czech Republic Grippen’s, Polish F-16’s, Dutch F-16’s and Belgian F-16’s all based on Kleine Brogel. The other part on Buchel consisted of USAFE F-15E Stike Eagles, Turkish F-16’s.
