A Brief History

Established on December 16, 1997, Vecihi Hürkuş Aviation Park was initially operated by a foundation before being handed over to the Turkish Air Force in 2006. In 2011, Anadolu University took over the management, and after extensive maintenance and restoration, the park reopened in September 2012

What to Expect

The park spans an impressive 39,000 square meters and is strategically located on the Bursa-Ankara highway, across from the Yunusemre Campus of Anadolu University

. Visitors can explore a variety of exhibits, including:

  • Aircraft Displays: The park features a collection of retired fighter jets, reconnaissance planes, and cargo aircraft. Notably, the interior of a C-47 cargo aircraft has been transformed into a unique cafeteria
  • Museum Building: Inside, you’ll find flight suits, aviator badges, aircraft mockups, and engines, providing a comprehensive look at the evolution of aviation technology
  • Educational Exhibits: The park also showcases helicopters, warplanes, and navigation-purpose planes, with a focus on American aircraft, alongside Russian and French models for educational purposes

Honoring Vecihi Hürkuş

The park is named after Vecihi Hürkuş, a pioneering Turkish aviator and engineer who made significant contributions to the field of aviation in Turkey. His legacy is celebrated throughout the park, inspiring future generations to pursue careers in aviation and aerospace.

Vecihi Hürkuş Aviation Park is open to the public every day from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, except on Mondays and Tuesdays.
