Dino van Doorn reported from Hamamatsu 2010 Airshow !
Hamamatsu Air Base is home of the Japanese Air Self Defense Force (JASDF) air training command with two squadrons of Kawasaki T-4 trainers who belong to the 1st Air Wing. Besides the many T-4’s of 31st and 32nd squadron you can find here the Airborne Early Warning Group as well operating the Boeing E-767 AWACS aircraft.
Once a year the airbase is open to the public for its annual airshow where you are able to see almost all the based T-4’s and E-767’s. Also on base is a large aviation museum and sometimes they push some exhibits to the static as well.
The Japanese airshows are real popular with the local Japanese people and many thousands spectators will bring a visit, with a lot of camera equipment as well, to these airshows and heavy traffic jams can be expected big time in the city of Hamamatsu.
