US Navy aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN75) flagship of US Navy’s sixth fleet arrived into Portsmouth on October 6 for a port visit while on a Mediterranean Sea deployment.

Capable of carrying 90 aircraft, the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier – named after America’s 33rd president who led the country at the end of World War II – is part of the U.S. Navy’s Sixth Fleet which has a mission to advance security and stability in Europe and Africa in co-operation with its allies.
During the weekend local ships arranged trips around the vessel to get a close look at the mighty ship and two of our reporters took their chance and flew into the United Kingdom to get some decent pictures of the ship and the aircraft.
