A special visitor from the Lithuanian Air Force made a night stop at Lelystad Airport on May 7th, 2026, as a Let L-410UVP Turbolet arrived while en route to the upcoming Lan Bihoué Airshow taking place this weekend on May 10th.

The aircraft operates from the Lithuanian Air Force’s main base at Šiauliai Air Base, home to the Transport Squadron (Transporto Eskadrilė). This squadron is responsible for a wide range of missions including logistical support, VIP and passenger transport, training flights, cargo operations, and medical evacuation duties both inside Lithuania and abroad.

The rugged Czech-built L-410UVP Turbolet is well known for its excellent short take-off and landing performance, allowing it to operate from smaller and less prepared airfields. Although not often seen in the Netherlands, the type remains an important utility aircraft within several European military fleets and is highly valued for its versatility and reliability.
